The P640 is a combination keypad and proximity card reader. The keypad has an illuminated face. The P-640's keypad can operate in two modes including standard Wiegand mode (26-bit output) and burst mode (8-bit Wiegand burst for each keypress) allowing the unit to work with many different control systems. Standard Wiegand mode is used with control systems that accept standard Wiegand input and provides wither prox card OR keypad (PIN) entry. Burst mode is used with controllers (like the Integra32) that can provide card AND PIN input.

This proximity card reader designed to work with an access control panel, and is not a stand-alone device. If you are looking for a complete access control kit with the P-640 reader, you may want to check out either the Integra32 or the Highpower 3000 door controllers.

The P-640 reader is designed to be affixed to a standard American single-gang wall switch box. Read range with the standard PSC-1 clamshell card is up to five inches (127 mm).

The P-640 can be ordered with compatibility with other brands of proximity cards. Order the "-H" model for HID compatibility. Order the "-A" model for AWID compatibility. Compatible models also read native Farpointe cards.
